Using fire as an element of change on wood, this class experiments with the japanese way of preserving wood by charring it. Wood burning is a centuries old practice commonly associated with the Japanese way of preserving wood or Shou Sugi Ban and is particularly therapeutic in the way one has to be fully aware during the time period the wood is charred, intentionally creating pattern.
Projects are simple and do not require much effort however encourage mindfulness and focus in exposing the wood to right amounts of heat and experimentation.
Our adult classes are themed to be exploratory and allow you to create something as an expression of your being, celebrating your uniqueness.
All our projects allow a takeaway home besides experiencing the process and the takeaways from these classes promise to be unique and different due to the medium used and method applied.
These classes are FOR ADULTS ONLY due to the usage of fire to create effects.
